Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for what you may and may not do with your Windlass workspace and the agent that runs in it. · Last updated Sep 22, 2026

Effective date: September 22, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") sets out what you may and may not do with the Windlass hosted AI agent workspace provided by [Company legal name] (operating as Windlass). It forms part of our Terms of Service, and capitalized terms have the meanings given there.

Your workspace can run code, execute shell commands, browse the web and connect to third-party systems. You are accountable for everything done in it, whether you do it yourself or instruct the Agent to do it.

1. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Service, or instruct the Agent, to:

1.1 Break the law. Engage in, promote or facilitate any activity that is illegal in [Country of incorporation], in your jurisdiction, or in the jurisdiction of anyone affected.

1.2 Attack systems. Create, distribute or deploy malware; probe, scan or test the vulnerability of systems you do not own or have written permission to test; gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, network or data; carry out denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks; or perform credential stuffing, password spraying or similar attacks.

1.3 Mine cryptocurrency. Run cryptocurrency mining, proof-of-work computation or similar workloads.

1.4 Send spam. Send unsolicited bulk messages of any kind, including email, SMS, direct messages or comments, or build tools whose primary purpose is to do so.

1.5 Scrape unlawfully. Collect data from websites or services in violation of their terms of service, technical access controls or applicable law, or collect personal data without a lawful basis.

1.6 Harm children. Create, upload, request, store or distribute child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors. We report such material to the relevant authorities.

1.7 Harass or abuse. Harass, threaten, stalk, defame or intimidate any person, or generate content designed to do so.

1.8 Infringe. Upload, generate or distribute content that infringes the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy or other rights of any person.

1.9 Circumvent limits. Bypass, manipulate or interfere with usage allowances, rate limits, storage limits, metering, trial restrictions or any other technical control of the Service, including by creating multiple accounts.

1.10 Share or resell accounts. Share your credentials, let another person use your account, or resell, sublicense or otherwise commercialize access to the Service.

1.11 Clone Windlass. Use the Service to build a competing hosted DeepSeek Harness offering by copying, extracting or reverse engineering Windlass's proprietary hosting, account, billing or metering layer. This does not restrict your rights in the open-source DeepSeek Harness software under the Apache License 2.0.

1.12 Overload the Service. Generate excessive automated load, run workloads designed to consume disproportionate compute, network or storage resources, or interfere with the Service or other customers' workspaces.

2. The Agent and Connectors

2.1 Connect only systems and credentials you own or are authorized to use, and grant the Agent only the access it needs.

2.2 Do not direct the Agent to take actions on third-party services that would violate those services' terms.

2.3 Review code the Agent writes before running it against systems that matter, and keep human review in place for decisions that significantly affect people.

3. Third-Party Terms

Your use of the Service must also comply with the terms of the providers we rely on, including DeepSeek's API terms. Content those terms prohibit may be rejected by the model or lead to restrictions on your account.

4. Fair Use

Each plan includes a weekly usage allowance and a storage limit designed for ordinary interactive and agentic development use by one person. Usage patterns inconsistent with that, such as continuous unattended workloads that exist mainly to consume allowance, may be throttled before the allowance is exhausted.

5. Enforcement

5.1 We may investigate suspected violations. We do not routinely monitor workspace content, but we may review it where we reasonably believe a violation has occurred, where the law requires, or with your permission.

5.2 Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, we may, at our discretion and with notice where practicable: issue a warning; throttle or rate-limit your workspace; remove or disable access to content; suspend your account; or terminate your account without refund.

5.3 We may report illegal activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful investigations.

5.4 If you believe your account was restricted in error, contact [support email] and we will review the decision.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of a violation of this Policy, including content that infringes your rights, report it to [legal email] with enough detail for us to locate and evaluate the material.

7. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
